In addition, when there is insufficient CO₂, the danger exists that nitrate can be reduced into nitrite, which is highly poisonous for the fish. 250 ml HOBBY Nitrate Killer removes up to 12,500 mg of nitrate from the water in a short time by way of ion exchange and does not release it back into the aquarium water.
